Work has commenced on Pride Park of a new £10 million hotel for leading hotel operators BDL Management Ltd.

The 112 room Ramada Encore hotel, developed and operated by BDL, will be located at The Point, Cedar House Investments’ impressive 12 acre mixed used scheme, which is being developed on the site of the former Bombardier bogie and signalling works to the west of Pride Park.

The Point is one of the biggest and most high profile developments ever on Pride Park. When complete, it will see the roll-out of an additional 300,000 sq ft of commercial accommodation and bring around 1,000 new jobs to Pride Park. It will also be home to the first serviced office accommodation on Pride Park.

The new five storey mid-range hotel is set to open its doors towards the end of 2008 and in addition to the 112 bedrooms, will also include three meeting rooms and a mini gym and sauna.

An £8 million, 103 bedroom Ramada Encore hotel is under construction at Birchwood Park, now the first business park in the MEPC group and one of the few in the country, to feature a hotel.

The launch of the 35,705sq ft (3,317 sq m) Ramada Encore Warrington in January 2009 will further raise the competitiveness of Birchwood Park, in the North West commercial property market.
It will also see the creation of approximately 60 full and part-time jobs in the local economy.
