BDL have been appointed to manage the new InterContinental Hotel in Edinburgh’s Haymarket. The hotel will be the first franchised InterContinental and bring the brand to Scotland for the first time.

Confirming the InterContinental hotel deal, John Nesbitt, managing director of Tiger Developments, said: “Bringing InterContinental to Scotland’s Capital is good news for us and good news for Edinburgh.

“The InterContinental Hotel will be ideally placed to meet the needs of business and leisure travellers seeking world class services and facilities.”

The project will create in the region of 400 jobs during construction, another 1,600 following completion whilst injecting an additional £8.75 million visitor spending in Edinburgh

The current proposal has 200 bedrooms, conference floor with 6 state-of-the-art conference rooms, leisure club with pool and spa facilities and a sky bar.

The hotel is due to open in 2012.

BDL Management has recently acquired the management contract for 16 Waterloo Place, five star luxury serviced apartments. These magnificent luxury serviced apartments are located in the heart of Edinburgh city. BDL are currently re-branding this property to Princes Street Suites.
